Five Nights At Freddys 2 Review: A Spookier Second Installment?

Following on from the massive success of Five Nights At Freddy's, it was only a matter of time before developer Scott Cawthon decided to return us back to the terrifying world of Freddy Fazbirez. After months of hype and anticipation, we finally get our hands on the long awaited sequel: Five Nights At Freddy's 2.

Building directly off from where its predecessor left us (literally speaking), it seems as though nothing has changed at all for poor ol' player one. You still wake up each morning to find yourself back in your old job, standing guard over those creepy animatronics once again. However, don't let appearances fool you - something feels off this time around...

As soon as the doors open and night falls upon us, we quickly realize that things are about to get a whole lot scarier than before! Gone are the relatively tame 'twos' of part one; instead, we're faced with brand new terrifying enemies eager to rip our faces clean off. Meet 'Bonnie' - an undead ventriloquist dummy hellbent on skewering us through every available means possible!

But wait, there's more... Alongside Bonnie comes another twisted creation: 'Foxy'. A former animatronic dog turned into a grotesque abomination with glowing red eyes that seem to stare straight through our very souls! These two new friends are not only tougher than their predecessors but also have some pretty nasty tricks up their respective sleeves...

The gameplay itself remains largely unchanged from part one, which may come as both relief and disappointment depending on your personal preferences. The core concept still involves simply surviving each night without getting caught by the animatronics; however, now we've got added elements like cameras to keep an eye out for any intruders trying to sneak up behind us!

The graphics have seen some minor improvements since part one but nothing too drastic - they're still pretty basic considering how far other horror games have come along in recent years. The sound design though? Oh boy... those creepy creaks and groans will send chills down your spine every single time you hear them!

Overall, Five Nights At Freddy's 2 is an okay-ish sequel that fans of the first game should enjoy; just don't expect anything too earth shattering or revolutionary. If you're new to this series though? Maybe start with part one before diving headfirst into these jump scares galore...
